Are Feelgrounds waterproof?Updated 2 months ago
Feelgrounds Mesh & Mesh Kids:
Our Mesh models are designed with an extra breathable mesh material. That's why they aren’t water-repellent or waterproof.
Feelgrounds Knit:
The upper material of our Knit models is slightly water-repellent due to a special coating of wax and silicone (free of PFC, PFOA and PFOS). Since the effect of this coating diminishes over time, we recommend treating the shoes with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray) before the first use and regularly thereafter. However, please note that 'water-repellent' does not mean 'waterproof'.
Feelgrounds Chelsea, Chelsea Kids, Luxe, Luxe Kids, Snap, Courtside Classic & Courtside Mid
The faux leather used in our sneaker models is water-repellent. However, unlike our fully waterproof Patrol Winter, the seams are not sealed, allowing water to penetrate them, as well as from above and around the tongue. Additionally, the material itself lacks the waterproof membrane featured in the Patrol Winter. If exposed to excessive humidity or water without being properly dried after each exposure, it may become damaged and begin to peel. Our faux leather models are therefore more water-repellent than our knit models, but less so than our Patrol models. We recommend treating the shoes with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray) before the first use and regularly thereafter.
Feelgrounds Courtside Canvas, Docks & Arcade Kids:
The upper material of the Canvas styles are made of natural cotton, which ensures excellent breathability. Please note that the Courtside Canvas, Arcade Kids or Docks are neither water-repellent nor waterproof. Treating the shoes with a waterproofing spray will not make them water-repellent.
Feelgrounds Chukka
The Chukka Boots are not fully waterproof, but they do feature a PFC-free, slightly water-repellent treatment that provides some protection against light drizzles.
The upper is made from a sustainable blend of banana-derived abacá and cotton, which offers breathability and comfort but is not designed for heavy rain or prolonged water exposure.
To maintain and enhance the water-repellent properties, we recommend regularly treating your Chukka Boots with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray). For best results, apply the spray before first use and refresh it periodically.
Feelgrounds Move:
Our Move models have a breathable upper material made from natural TENCEL™ Lyocell and are therefore not water-repellent. Treating the shoes with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray) will not make them water-repellent.
Feelgrounds Pathway:
While the sole of the Pathway is made of water-repellent materials, the sandals have not been specifically designed or tested as water shoes. In particular, the durability and functionality of the straps can be compromised if they become completely soaked. In addition, the fit and grip of the sandal might be reduced when wet.
Therefore, we do not recommend wearing the Pathway sandals in water. However, if you are walking near water or encountering light splashes and moisture, the sandal should withstand these circumstances well.
Feelgrounds Seaside Luxe &Twill:
Due to the natural cork insole, the sandals are not suitable to be worn in water as this will damage the cork. Please note that cork may change its look when getting in contact with moisture. Therefore, discoloration over time, e.g. due to sweat, is normal.
Feelgrounds Seaside Luxe All Black:
Due to the microfiber insole, the sandals are not suitable to be worn in water as this will damage the material.
Feelgrounds Patrol Winter & Feelgrounds Patrol Winter Kids:
The Patrol Winter and Patrol Winter Kids are waterproof and therefore also suitable for use in snow and winter. The upper material is made of imitation leather and all seams are thoroughly sealed. It also has a waterproof membrane for double protection. The tongue is sewn to the rest of the upper material through the gusset so that water cannot penetrate the boot through the eyelets and laces. Treating the shoes with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray) is not necessary thanks to the waterproof membrane.

Feelgrounds Patrol Lite
Compared to the Patrol Winter, the Patrol Lite, are more breathable because they do not have an additional waterproof membrane. Our Patrol Lite boots are therefore not completely waterproof, but only water-repellent.
To maintain and enhance the water-repellent properties, we recommend regularly treating your Patrol Lite boots with a waterproofing spray (e.g. our Eco Waterproofing Spray). For best results, apply the spray before first use and refresh it periodically.
