Do Feelgrounds have cushioning?Updated 2 months ago

Barefoot shoes are designed to offer minimal to no cushioning. This means they lack the thick padding or shock-absorbing elements in the sole that conventional shoes typically have. The main goal of barefoot shoes is to create an experience as close to being barefoot as possible, establishing a direct connection between the foot and the ground.

In conventional shoes with cushioning, the thick sole and other padding materials reduce the natural impact forces on the foot, which can limit the foot's ability to engage its muscles and adapt to ground feedback. Barefoot shoes generally forego this cushioning to promote the natural movement of the foot and to strengthen the foot muscles. This can help improve posture and increase the sensory feedback between the foot and the ground.

However, it is important to note that wearing barefoot shoes may require an adjustment period, as the foot muscles and running technique may need to adapt. Transitioning too quickly or skipping this adjustment phase can increase the risk of discomfort or injury. For barefoot shoe beginners, we recommend our additional insoles to ease the transition to barefoot shoes.
