I’m new to barefoot shoes. What do I have to consider?Updated 2 months ago

Most of our customers are immediately thrilled by the added freedom and flexibility barefoot shoes provide. However, some experience mild "soreness" in their calves and feet during the first few days. This is actually a good sign: it means your foot and leg muscles are gradually becoming stronger, which will lead to greater stability and strength over time.

If you’re new to barefoot shoes, we recommend listening to your body and transitioning to minimalist footwear step by step. If you need some time to adapt to the new feeling, start with shorter wear times and gradually increase them.

For a softer wearing experience, you can use our removable insoles, available in our shop under Accessories. These insoles not only offer extra cushioning but also protect the inside of your Feelgrounds shoes. They’re especially useful for barefoot shoe beginners as they help ease the transition to the lighter feel or provide slight dampening.

Depending on the material, the insoles can also provide additional warmth on cold days and improve the fit for narrower feet or lower insteps. This way, you can fully enjoy the comfort and freedom of your barefoot shoes.
